Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Smoovly Technologies Ltd, a company incorporated in Israel (company no. 517402285) (“Smoovly”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Smoovly mobile app and related services. Smoovly Technologies Ltd is the controller of your personal information. By using Smoovly, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: email address, hashed password, and Apple/Google sign-in identifiers if you use those methods.
• Content you provide: information about yourself and the people you discuss, messages sent to AI assistants, uploaded images, and feedback.
• Share a Feel: when you connect with another Smoovly user, we store the connection (the two accounts, when it was created, and whether either of you has unlinked, blocked, or archived it), the feelings you send and receive (the feeling, its intensity where one is set, and when it was sent), the display name shown with them, and the invitation codes and links you create.
• Voice data: when you use live voice coaching, the audio of your voice sessions and the transcripts generated from that audio. These recordings and transcripts are stored to provide the feature, maintain continuity across your sessions, and improve the Service.
• Usage data: features used, sessions, AI persona interactions, error logs, and performance data.
• Device and technical data: device model, OS version, app version, language, time zone, an anonymous device identifier, and a push-notification token if you allow notifications. If you use the Service as a guest without an account, we also use a device identifier and your IP address to enforce free-usage limits; we store only one-way hashes of these, never the identifier or address itself.
• Analytics data:through Google Analytics for Firebase and Mixpanel, we collect information about how you use the app (for example, screens viewed, features used, and session length), an app-instance identifier, device and app information, and your approximate location (such as country or city) derived from your IP address. On Android, Google Analytics for Firebase may also access your device's advertising ID; we use it for analytics only and never to show you ads. See Section 5.
• Purchase information: Apple processes transactions and shares a receipt identifier and subscription status. We never receive your payment card details.

2. How we use your information

• Provide the core Smoovly service including AI-generated coaching tailored to you and the people you discuss.
• Remember context across sessions so advice stays consistent over time.
• Deliver the feelings you choose to share to the people you have connected with, and notify them.
• Understand how the Service is used, measure the performance of features, and diagnose problems (analytics).
• Process subscriptions and manage your account.
• Improve our AI models through aggregated, de-identified analytics.
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• Communicate with you about your account or material changes to the Service.

3. AI processing

Smoovly uses third-party large language model providers to generate responses. When you message a Smoovly AI persona, the text and relevant context are sent to these providers solely to generate a reply. Live voice coaching additionally uses a third-party conversational-voice provider (ElevenLabs) to transcribe your speech, generate the coach's spoken responses, and process the conversation in real time. Audio of your voice sessions and the resulting transcripts are processed and stored by this provider and by us. Our large language model providers are contractually prohibited from using your content to train their models; our voice provider stores conversation audio and transcripts to provide, secure, and improve its services under its agreement with us. We do not sell your conversations.

4. Share a Feel

Share a Feel lets you connect with another Smoovly user and send each other feelings. A connection is created only when the other person accepts your invitation code or link, and either of you can unlink or block the other at any time. When you share a feeling, the other person sees the feeling, your display name, and when it was sent, and may receive a push notification about it. They do not see your conversations with your coach, the details you keep about the people in your life, or which person in your list you link the connection to.

If you use “Help me reply” on a feeling you received, that feeling and the relevant context you have saved about the sender are sent to our AI model providers to suggest replies, as described in Section 3. Please share feelings only with people who have agreed to connect with you.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase, provided by Google, in the iOS and Android apps, and Mixpanel in the app's web layer, to understand how Smoovly is used and to improve it. These providers process the analytics data described in Section 1 on our behalf. We use analytics data only to operate and improve Smoovly. We do not use it to show you ads or to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.

You can learn how Google uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings. On iOS, Smoovly does not ask for permission to track you, so the app cannot access your device's advertising identifier.

6. Service providers

We share information with service providers who help us operate Smoovly, including cloud hosting and database providers (MongoDB Atlas, Vercel), AI model providers, voice/speech-processing providers (ElevenLabs), analytics providers (Google Analytics for Firebase, Mixpanel), push-notification providers (Firebase Cloud Messaging, Apple Push Notification service), Apple and Google (for in-app purchases), and authentication providers (Apple, Google). They may only use your data to provide services to us. We do not sell your personal information or share it with advertisers.

7. Data retention

We retain your account and content while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where required by law. Voice recordings and transcripts are retained while your account is active so your coach can maintain continuity, and are deleted or anonymized within 30 days of account deletion, except where retention is required by law. Our voice provider retains conversation data for its own period under its agreement with us. Connection records and shared feelings are kept while the connection and both accounts exist, so each of you can see your sharing history; if you delete your account, the connection ends and the feelings you shared are deleted or anonymized within 30 days. Analytics data is kept by our analytics providers under the retention settings we configure and is used only in aggregate.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Email privacy@smoovlyapp.com to exercise any of these rights. We respond within 30 days.

9. How to delete your account

Delete your account anytime in the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, messages, target profiles, feedback history, and Share a Feel connections and shared feelings within 30 days. You can also request deletion by emailing privacy@smoovlyapp.com from your account email address.

10. Children

Smoovly is rated 16+ and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. Contact us to delete any such data.

11. Security

We use HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, hashed passwords, and access controls to protect your information.

12. International data transfers

Smoovly is operated from Israel. Regardless of where you use the Service, your data may be transferred to and processed in Israel, the United States, and other countries where we and our service providers operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers from the EEA, UK, and Switzerland.

13. California privacy rights

California residents have rights under the CCPA including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as defined under the CCPA. Email privacy@smoovlyapp.com to exercise your CCPA rights.

14. This website (smoovlyapp.com)

Separately from the Smoovly app described above, this marketing website uses three third-party tools to understand how visitors use it: Google Analytics (GA4), the Meta Pixel, and the TikTok Pixel. Depending on the tool, they collect page views, which buttons you click (including the App Store and Google Play buttons), your device and browser type, and your approximate location (such as country) derived from your IP address. If you arrive from an ad, they may also receive identifiers from that ad click (such as a Facebook or TikTok click ID) so the ad platform can measure the campaign. We do not use these tools to show you ads on this website, and we do not combine this data with your Smoovly app account.

If you are visiting from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, these three tools are off by default and only run after you accept them in the cookie banner. Everywhere else, they run by default and you can decline them. Either way, you can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of this website.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email before taking effect.
