Smoovly is your personal AI dating assistant. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Smoovly you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We collect the information you provide when you use Smoovly — such as the messages and situations you describe, your profile details, the screenshots you choose to share for analysis, and the date debriefs you submit after a date (together, your “User Content”). We also collect basic account information and limited technical data needed to operate the service.
How we use information
Your information is used to provide, maintain, and improve the coaching experience. There are no public profiles, no feeds, and nothing is shared with the people you talk about. In addition to operating the service for you, we may use User Content to operate, evaluate, debug, and improve Smoovly — including to train, fine-tune, and improve the AI models and prompts that power our coaching features.
Where we use User Content to improve our models, we take commercially reasonable steps to reduce its association with you, and we do not use it to build a public profile of you or to identify you to third parties.
Your choice: improving the AI (opt-out)
You can ask us not to use your User Content — including your date debriefs and coaching conversations — to train or improve our AI models. To opt out, email us at support@smoovlyapp.com. Opting out is forward-looking and does not affect (a) our use of your content to provide the service to you, (b) content already used in model training before we received your request (which may not be reversible once incorporated into a trained model), or (c) aggregated or de-identified data that no longer reasonably identifies you.
Third-party AI processing
To deliver our coaching features, we use third-party AI providers as data processors. In particular, we send certain User Content — such as your messages and any screenshots or images you upload for analysis — to OpenAI so it can generate coaching responses and perform related processing, including content-safety screening of uploaded images. These providers process this content on our behalf under contractual terms that restrict their use of it to providing the service to us.
Only the content needed to generate a response is sent (for example, the relevant conversation context and any image you attach). We do not send your account credentials or payment information to these AI providers. Your use of these features is also subject to the provider’s terms and privacy practices — see OpenAI’s privacy policy at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy for more about how it handles data processed through its API.
Business transfers
As we continue to develop our business, we may buy, sell, or reorganize assets and business units. If Smoovly (or substantially all of its assets) is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, dissolution, sale of assets, or transition of service to another provider, your information may be transferred to a successor or affiliated entity as part of that transaction. This is not a sale of your data as a product — your information transfers only as part of a transfer of the business itself. Any such transfer remains subject to the commitments in this Privacy Policy in effect when the information was collected, unless and until you are notified of, and where required consent to, a materially different policy. Where required by law, we will notify you of any such transaction and of any choices you may have.
Data retention & your choices
You can request access to or deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. We retain User Content for as long as needed to provide the service and for the purposes described above, unless you request deletion or a longer period is required by law.
